How you may use DEWi

DEWi allows the secure transfer and validation of pupil, workforce and school information for statutory data collections through a robust system. It also provides a secure route for schools to share this data with their local authority (LA). Useful tools are employed to aid schools and authorities validate their data.

DEWi is also used by the Welsh Government to share information with local authorities.

LA members of staff are given access to DEWi at different levels for the following functions:

Access to DEWi is given to LA staff with a valid business need to use the system in accordance with intended use of the system as set out above. The use of DEWi and its user accounts is monitored regularly.

Prohibited uses

You may only use our Website for lawful purposes.

DEWi is not a tool for archiving data. At most, data remains on DEWi for one year. Neither is DEWi a transfer tool for files between schools or between local authorities.
